In honor Arbor Day, the Arborists at Harrison McPhee hosted a special tree planting event for local school children. My task was to design an original t-shirt that each child would wear and take home to remind them of Arbor Day. I am a big fan of this type of community event, and my main goal was to keep the design eye-catching and fun so the kids will be inspired to keep wearing their green tee.
Trees have long been one of my favorite subjects to draw or paint, and I was excited to incorporate a spade (symbol of planting a tree) into the tree trunk, while the chalkboard style white lettering gives the image a nostalgic, rustic feel.
T-shirts are always a great canvas to work with, and I’m always up for designing a new one! If you have a t-shirt design need, email me anytime to discuss: Click here to email Lesley.
